What to Expect

Service Format

Our service begins with worship that is led by a band. Most people stand during this time, but if you’re not able to stand, you’re welcome to remain seated. The words of all of the songs are projected onto a screen. Our hope is that you’ll hear songs you know or can relate to even if you haven’t been to church before.

We hope you will complete our online Connection Card or fill in a paper connect card available from the Connection desk and on your seat. The Connection Card is used to help us get to know you a bit. It is a place where you can request information, ask for prayer, or just let us know you were here worshipping with us. Our primary purpose for the Connection Card is to pray for you - our leadership takes care in ensuring utmost confidence with your information. You won’t be asked to stand or raise your hand (or anything else embarrassing) just because you’re new.

Our commitment at Mission City is to preach practical messages from the Bible that help you deal with real life issues. Pastor Kevin preaches from the English Standard Version but our most important concern is that you have a Bible in your hands regardless of which version it is. If you don’t have a Bible, it would be our joy to give you one at no cost when you come to church.

Our teams are working hard to put together a worshipful and safe in-service experience for those who wish to join us on Sunday mornings. We will continue to deliver a consistent online service experience for others who may not be able or ready to gather in person with us yet.

Please continue to faithfully pray for each other, pray for those who are leading and pray that all of us would live on Mission for Jesus.  We continue to be full of anticipation for what God is doing as we worship the Lord and hear from His Word.

After The Service

In addition to filling in the connect card, we would love if you would stop by the connection desk to introduce yourself.  The Connection Desk is also where you’ll find important information about our church — including your next steps to get plugged in at Mission City — to help you decide if this is where God wants you be.

Don’t feel that you have to hurry out the door. We would love the chance to meet you. And don’t forget to pick up your children from Mission City Kids before you leave!

What To Wear?

At Mission City Bible Church, we focus on the heart more than the outward appearance. When you come to one of our weekend services, you will find people dressed in a wide variety of styles from casual (jeans and shorts) to formal (suits and dresses).

We do ask that people wear clothing that does not draw attention to themselves. We think that what you wear to church should not detract from the worship experience of others around you. We want all of the attention to go to Jesus Christ.

Welcome from our Lead Pastor of Preaching & Teaching

We are a church that is passionately seeking the glory of God as we make disciples of Jesus Christ. We believe that God has given the church the greatest mission there is: to glorify Him through the fulfillment of the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great Commandment (Matthew 28:19-20; Matthew 22:37-39).

Maybe you have come to this site just to look around; if that’s you, then welcome. But maybe you’re wondering if Mission City is the church where God wants you to be. If that’s you, then it’s important for you to know that we are committed to unapologetic preaching, unashamed worship, unceasing prayer, and unafraid witness.

As you explore the rest of our website, you’ll discover more of what that means. But the best way to get to know us is to come to church on the weekend. And when you come, be sure to stop in at our Connection Table. We would love to get to know you as well as give you more information about who we are and how you and your family can get plugged in at Mission City.

We hope to see you soon!
